Job Description
Sales and Events MANAGER
Generator is a global lifestyle brand offering fresh and socially engaging accommodation and hospitality venues. Our vision is to become the world's leading experience and design-led hostel brand. We aim to achieve this by offering a host of soulful social spaces, cultural events and a creative programme that inspires guests and locals alike, all while providing affordable and safe accommodation in the centre of the city.
BEING YOURSELF is the key to bringing the Generator story and brand to life. Our Sales and Events Manager will be an exceptional and passionate sales professional who is organised, has a hunger to drive the local sales activities to identify, pursue and win new direct events business. You will be raising the profile of the brand and the hostels within our fast and evolving growing group You will be responsible for developing and managing business opportunities from your local/national market through direct sales activity and brand awareness.

YOU MUST
Be an extremely pro-active, self-motivating, highly organised individual who shows initiatives and is not afraid to approach people and to share ideasHave the ability to build fantastic relationshipsHave passion for sales and a strong drive to beat targetsBe tech savvy and be able to work with account management and (events) reservation systemsBe an excellent administrator and organiserBe highly skilled at Word, PowerPoint and Excel from an intermediate to advanced levelCommunicate extremely wellBe highly flexible, strong in time management and not have a 9-5 mentalityHave at least 2 3 years hospitality experience with proactive sales and meeting & events experience in Amsterdam

YOU WILL:
Identify new business opportunities and engage with potential customers for new business focusing on direct business for meetings & eventsGather market and client information, providing feedback on buying trendsActivate appropriate sales strategies for the property during need periods, i.e. telesales, agent promotions, tactical projectsFacilitate full rate quotation on enquiries and contracting for local accountsRepresent the Hostel(s) at local trade exhibitions and local events if requestedAct as liaison between the hostel team and global sales team at head officePrioritise all sales leads generated from and for the propertyDevelop account action plans and long range planning schedulesEnthusiastically build long term client relationshipsActively contribute to the commercial business opportunities for the propertyEnsure sales targets are achieved for meetings & eventsReport on call activity on a weekly, monthly and annual basisReport on client production and account management statisticsIncrease local awareness of the property and the Generator networkRespond to and process all meeting & events inquiriesEnsure that all the administrative documents are prepared and maintained for the hostel team and client (from proposal to billing/after sales)Compose, publish and distribute function sheets to all department headsEnsure that all the administrative documents are prepared and maintained for the hostel team and client (from proposal to billing/after sales)Act as liaison between all related hostel departments for your meetings & events to ensure complete guest and customer satisfactionAverage 70% of the workweek should be spend on attracting new business and 30% on the organization of enquiriesSupport the budgetary process and the annual business strategyReport to the Reservations ManagerPerform other duties as deemed necessary for the success of the department and Generator Amsterdam

Job Requirements
YOU ARE:
Experienced in working within a vibrant and exciting sales environment within the hospitality marketSocial, connected and well informed on the trends and markets within hospitalityExperienced within the Amsterdam marketFluent in English and DutchBased at the hostel and be able to travel within Europe from time to time as requiredBe able to communicate at all levelsDemonstrate strong attention to detailYou must be eligible to work in the EU to be considered for this roleThe statements in this job description are intended to describe the essential nature and level of work being performed and are not intended to be all responsibilities or qualifications of the job.
